Acrylic Painting on Canvas

Abstract sunset: created with numerous paint layers and painters tape. Started as a “traditional sunset” but after layers of trying to find the sunset I was picturing. I eventually painted a layer of just colors. Then on top of that layer I used tape to create a geometric composition in only primary and secondary colors. After removing the tape the layers of acrylic began to peel and I let them. I particularly enjoy the colorful peak of color without shapes at the top of the canvas as well as the receding perspective shapes that almost disappear into the canvas in the left corner.
